Virtual Physio/Personal Training Tips

Prepare to Train, Wherever Life Finds You.

We receive a lot of questions regarding the virtual setting for our services. We put together this article to make sure you know what to expect and how to prepare for your session.

Logistics

  • We run all virtual sessions via Zoom. All you need is a device with web access to train or receive Physio care virtually.

  • Here is the permanent zoom link we use for all virtual sessions: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3659962407

  • you will be admitted to a waiting room when you enter. Hang tight! We might be with another client before you and will let you in when we are ready for you.

Prepare Your Space

Training Area

Make sure you have enough space to move. Ideally an entire room, but we can make your session work with about 6’ x6’ space plus headroom. Your trainer will let you know if you need to have anything else nearby for your specific session to run smoothly.

Camera

We will guide you at the beginning of your session to get you setup! Place your camera in a place where we can see your entire body. Stand far enough back that we can see you, plus some space around you. The more of you that’s in the frame, the better we can help you and ensure your form is safe. If you can have multiple devices with a camera - even better! The more views we have of your training space, the better we can help you.

Floor

Watch your floor surfaces! Even in your own home, train somewhere with a rubber, concrete or carpet floor if possible. In a pinch, tiles and hardwood floors will work, but are a slipping risk as we get you sweating. We want you to train hard and be safe, so govern your home training space accordingly.

Have Ready

  • Water

  • Athletic shoes

  • Equipment needed for your session per the training schedule/blueprint provided by us!

Optional but nice to have

  • 2nd, 3rd, etc. device with a camera for multiple angles

  • Headphones are great for ensuring you always hear us when you are breathing and training hard

  • GymNext Timer app (iOS & Android) so we can link up session timing at the beginning of the session. This is useful if we lose connection and you can stay on top of your working time while the web works to reconnect us.

  • Disconnection protocol: try to click the link we gave you again. If this still isn’t working, don’t fret. Give us a quick phone or wifi call and we can reconnect that way. Historically, our uptime is >99% so this has never been an issue!

Best Practices & Other Considerations:

  • If we need you to move the camera, we will ask. Let us guide you.

  • We sometimes take screenshots during your session so we can mark them up and educate you on how to improve/adapt. Let us know if you have any issues with us doing so in advance of the session.
